This is a private rainforest reserve located within the El Rodeo a short 8 kilometers from the town center of Ciudad Colon.
This is one of the last remnants of primary rainforest in Costa Rica’s Central Valley.
The finca is only 29 km West of San Jose with an altitude ranging from 560-890 meters above sea level. The finca comprises
a total area of 44.6 hectares. From the home and other spots on the property you can see the ocean. This property would be perfect for a retreat center, family home, or a beautiful getaway for a permaculture retreat. You feel as you are literally on top of the world when you are on this property.

Fruit trees:
191 orange, lemon, mandarin, avocado, mango, sweet lemon, banana & guanabana
Vegetable garden: Lettuce, urugula, culantro and spinach. There is a compost section as well.



70% of the land is covered by old & young growth secondary forest, 18% is composed of
several ‘charrales’ (old pasture land in process of forest regeneration) & the remaining area
is divided into horse pastures, orchards and gardens.

The finca is entirely off the grid, using solar energy with generator back-up & well water
to supply the house, stables & other outbuildings. The climate is pleasantly warm with
average temperatures ranging from 21-27 degrees centigrade year round .

Other than recharging fresh water, El property other primary feature is conserving the large number
of fast growing, CO2 fixing trees, including Ceiba, Pochote, Yuco, Gallinazo, Guanacaste, Volador,
& many others.
